I'm going to assume there was a bit more care and oversight from Bandai/Sunrise's localizatoin of their new international prestige OVA than there was on a video game that came out when Gundam was functionally dormant in the NA market. Though I don't remember what they went with on the ZZ BD subs.

The voice actors say Puru because they're speaking Japanese. They pronounce it "Pull" in the English dub of Gundam Unicorn because of the "Ple" thing. It's more that the spelling is unintuitive than the pronunciation, since your first instinct sans context is to pronounce it "Pleh."

It's already happened. In fact, before the de minimis elimination, a lot of the sales of OOP Gundam on eBay was actually Japanese sellers selling the American releases BACK to US buyers at high prices.

God the gold on these releases was so bad, especially when you compare to the more yellow gold found in the G Gundam Hyper Mode figures. AFAIK the Tallgeese III and BOTH versions of the Jagd Doga exclusively came in gold here.

Forgive me for being skeptical here, but NA releases wouldn't typically have panel lining. The details on this are consistent with the JP release.
Yeah the better, less soft plastic tended to be on the torsos IIRC
It's not that the US ones cut down on paint or detail so much as they weren't panel lined. They frequently had logos and insignias that the Japanese MSiA didn't, and I believe the plastic was a little less soft (though it still bent).
I think most if not all the Gundams got an initial yellow run and then a later gold run. I've honestly always hated the gold ones; I'm probably going to sell a few of the ones with gold trim that I have and just keep the yellow ones. This Tallgeese is going to be the exception.
Well, this comment on a YouTube review of it seems to think that the American one only ever came in gold
Does anybody know if the American Tallgeese III figure ever came with yellow parts instead of the dingy gold? IIRC it came out relatively late in the line, and the only examples I can find of it in yellow are the Japanese MSiA release.

Some of them just kind of looked scuffed up with a paint application, but there were also plenty that had really nice, unique parts and overall molds! The Mummy Gundam in particular is incredible.
Better these than rereleasing previous figures with an ugly brown gold in place of any yellow paint application

Real Type Guncannon/Guntank was a unique color scheme too IIRC (despite releasing normal colors of them). I think maybe the only other was the "Desert Ver."? That one was just a dumb color swap.

Picked up a bunch of the American MSiA Gundam figures from my parents' house last night and realized I'd completely forgotten about how at one point Bandai was just putting out unique variants to the line like the "Gogg Submarine Color." Not my photo, mine's loose in a ziploc bag in a big tote

Honestly the craziest thing to me about Valvrave in retrospect is it was directed by the guy who'd go on to direct Gundam Thunderbolt and written by the guy who'd go on to write The Witch from Mercury
You know what show actually managed a twist like that? I hate to give it any credit, but... Valvrave. Sunrise initially promoted it like a traditional mecha show. The first episode is very structurally similar to a first episode of Gundam. Then all of a sudden... vampire shit! Body swapping!
