Does anybody know if the American Tallgeese III figure ever came with yellow parts instead of the dingy gold? IIRC it came out relatively late in the line, and the only examples I can find of it in yellow are the Japanese MSiA release.

Well, this comment on a YouTube review of it seems to think that the American one only ever came in gold

The japanese version had a yellow variant (and possibly only a yellow variant). As far as I know, the U.S. / domestic Version was ONLY in Gold. So search ebay till you find a japanese one. Its worth it. (I have a review for that one too!) Japanese tallgeese 3 msia review!

God the gold on these releases was so bad, especially when you compare to the more yellow gold found in the G Gundam Hyper Mode figures. AFAIK the Tallgeese III and BOTH versions of the Jagd Doga exclusively came in gold here.

Forgive me for being skeptical here, but NA releases wouldn't typically have panel lining. The details on this are consistent with the JP release.

Ah well, you are probably right then. I got it in a big loose lot from a guy that seemed to have all NA releases otherwise. Maybe he was just dead set on all yellow versions no matter what.

Can't say that I'd blame him, because the gold that they used on these just looks awful. AFAIK the NA versions of both Jagd Dogas also exclusively came in that dingy gold.

Yep, my Dogas are both gold. I also like the yellow more in every case. I don’t mind having gold versions of the TV Wing suits (in addition to yellow) so I can give each version a different loadout.

Not that I recall or seen I know for a fact that at least from when I collected them. I also noticed how US releases would either cut down on paints and detail or do stuff like that There’s like 1 eBay listing that says it’s the MSIA version but they’re using a terrible jpg stockphoto

It's not that the US ones cut down on paint or detail so much as they weren't panel lined. They frequently had logos and insignias that the Japanese MSiA didn't, and I believe the plastic was a little less soft (though it still bent).

Honestly I will always remember the gummy feel all these had when it came in terms of plastic So many bender and warped V fins <3

Yeah the better, less soft plastic tended to be on the torsos IIRC

Can confirm a bunch of Wing MSiA stuff had both gold and yellow. I had times where I bought more than one of a figure because of that.

I think most if not all the Gundams got an initial yellow run and then a later gold run. I've honestly always hated the gold ones; I'm probably going to sell a few of the ones with gold trim that I have and just keep the yellow ones. This Tallgeese is going to be the exception.
