It’s the #1 problem facing our planet. And it’s critical (for the futures of our children and grandchildren) that abatement action be taken soon. But this regime will do nothing. Actually, the regime will make it worse. I fear it will be too late by the time trump’s term ends.
And the tories want to extract all the remaining oil from the North Sea thereby pushing the problem and urgency of creating renewables onto future generations. Who would’ve guessed.
I’d say we have 10 livable (hardly) years left. 2035 what call civilization will have collapsed.
Have a backyard weather station... change is visible even in that if one looks at the data. Like many other things, IMHO, conservatives are choosing the most expensive path forward.

Other perceived priorities always push climate to one side -and Environment etc doesn't even get a tab. At one point the BBC had 'Ukraine war', 'Covid', 'Cost of living', and 'Election' tabs before 'Climate' & I kept expecting something else to come along and boot it off entirely.
Climate change, ecological destruction, species extinctions, pollution issues have always been consigned to the "... and now in other news" 3 minute segment at the end / page 26 just before the TV listings. Only time they're the lead story is when they are associated with an immediate human tragedy.
Scientific studies indicate the AMOC, a major system of ocean currents, could collapse within the next 10 to 20 years. This is no longer a low probability event as thought 10 years ago!

What future?
For all reality deniers and their smug narrative "After me the flood" - We are the flood!
But is it really a matter of lack of information? Isn’t more on how our minds work? The disconnection between what govern our thoughts and behavior and information.
Trees. We all need to plant one tree in our back gardens. Or in a pot. Or wherever we can. And then, when the tree is bigger & survived its infancy, move it somewhere a big one has fallen. My neighbour hates trees. So I grow them for her and her 4x4. I’ve got two baby walnuts and an olive tree now 😊
