The show people should reboot IMHO is SeaQuest DSV. That show was about many things but one is a committed environmentalist given command of a nuclear submarine with the authority to enforce international law. There’s an episode where an old friend of his is an eco-terrorist (and Jonathan Banks)

Yeah his politics weren’t perfect. He also fought Neptune god of the sea at one point because season two took a sharp turn into fantasy.

That is a good analogy honestly. It is wild how the show goes from season one episodes like ‘the discovery of the Library of Alexandria on the sea floor leads to an international dispute over the ownership of the find’ to ‘the crew fight a demon’
I have the first two seasons on DVD. I was obsessed with the show but S3 was meh. And I’m still not happy that they replaced Stephanie Beacham as the doctor.

The first season was amazing then not so much. It's terrible what happened to Jonathan Brandis (Lucas).

I loved the show except the last season when they jumped into the future and things were weird. In a bad way.
Yeah it kept retooling the premise every season to mixed success.
I think it was cancelled mid season 3 as far as I remember. It was decades ago.
