THIS! You nailed it. We’re seeing this play out with AOC and the enthusiasm with these big stadium rallies. I’m all for AOC and her work but can she motivate Americans to do more than show up at rallies and talk on social media about how she’s the one to save us? 🤷♀️
The difficult part is getting to the poorly educated. AOC appeals to the educated, especially those left leaning. They’re madly enthusiastic. What she’s saying won’t reach the majority. The ones who didn’t vote aren’t interested enough to listen to her, & lots wouldn’t understand what she’s saying.
Agreed. I'm also concerned about Bernie using this to promote Medicare for All right now. I'm no political science expert but can we start with saving Medicare and our democracy that's currently hanging by a fingernail off a cliff?
America won’t go as leftwing as Bernie in my lifetime, probably not yours. I’m worried that the enthusiasts will take the Democrats too far left. As you say, save your democracy, save your Medicare, get the Democrats elected and the rest will come in time.
