you're mad people don't consider the greens, in favour of an allegedly transphobic corbyn-led party but respond to crit that the greens also have transphobic MPs... by retorting they're approximately the same as corbyn's allies? fuck terfs in any party, but why are greens better then?

Approximately the same in terms of MPs, yeah.

But we have the aforementioned manifesto policies, a definition of transphobia endorsed by the party power structures, a disciplinary process (it’s not great, but we have one), and a leadership candidate with the most endorsements who pledged his support of trans rights in his campaign.

I want Polanski to win and change the Greens to be trans inclusive. I want Corbyn and Sultana to vocally support trans rights, which they've been suspiciously silent on lately. My support for either party is contingent, but I see little reason to favour only one at this point. Both have baggage.

I think it’s very unfair say we’re not trans inclusive. I think we’ve got the strongest policies, and we’ve got a definition of transphobia that sets us apart from every other party. But I do hope Zack wins. It would be transformative, even so.

I think when half your outgoing leadership are openly transphobic it's not very trans inclusive. If they lose and the party shifts away from that, great.

We’re not VERY trans inclusive, but we are trans inclusive

Ramsay didn't out himself as a transphobe until fairly recently, and Denyer has always been an ally - nobody really voted for Ramsay last time around, he rode Carla's coat-tails. We're about to find out if he and Chowns have burned their support as a result. 🤞

On why GPEW and not YP, I'll only say this: YP was just started, and chose to admit transphobic MPs. GPEW is a party trying to deal with an infestation, which is different because our tervert scum got in years ago. YP founders and current leaders *chose* to have tervert scum in the party.

Probably because the Greens are having a leadership contest, so there's a good chance there'll be a change of approach soon. The new party is just getting set up, so what they are now is what they'll be like

You could easily flip that around and say the Greens are an existing party and a change in leadership can only alter so much, while Your Party are new and as yet undefined so members could shape it to embrace trans rights. Neither party should be supported uncritically.

Also the Scottish Greens don't have a transphobe problem, so why would I switch away from them (seeing as I vote here)

Well you've got me there, but I am stuck with the English edition of the Greens.

It is, of course, also entirely possible that the shitheads win the leadership and go full-bore bigotry.
