I quite like that idea! Maybe Trelane was being quite careful not to identify himself or let on he'd met Spock, so as not to disturb the timeline?
But now I say that, he was also trying to force a marriage between Spock and Chapel which would have disrupted the timeline, so either I'm wrong or he's not thought it through... Which would be consistent if he hadn't
I think he knew it could all be undone at the click of a finger!
Which I think makes the idea of his parents coming in even better, because he's the ultimate 'my actions have no consequences!' until his Dad shows up and is like 'the hell they don't!'
