Visiting someone in hospice is powerful, and there is good advice for everyday life, too. You work to make someone as comfortable as possible. You are struck by the beauty of the day. You marvel at the power of holding someone's hand. You say "I love you" often. Get to it. Don't wait too long.

So many let their fear of the unknown keep them from visiting, not knowing what to say. Please, just being there to hold a hand, or support the caregiver. (You know how to throw in a load of laundry, hand wash a few dishes? Great!) Being a friend is being there. 💙

Caring for a family member during their hospice changed everything I used to forget to do. I no longer keep I love you's silent. And too many things are now different than before. We often do not change our heart before it's late and hard to do. Your reminder is lovely. Thank you, Joe. ❤️
