People should sue. They are told that it’s safe and it’s not safe. They are being sold something that definitely makes them sick. Do you really think everyone even knows what ‘raw milk’ is? It would be very easy to think ‘oh, raw milk…maybe I’ll try it.’ Are it’s the only way to stop this BS.

But it literally said “not for human consumption” on it. At what point do we absolve people of personal responsibility?

Until people stop selling it and children don’t get sick and pregnant women don’t kill their fetuses.

So should we stop selling anything that could potentially be ingested that could be harmful? Where is the line?

The line is at ‘creating a product for sale with a high risk of illness or fatality if used normally.’ That is a perfectly reasonable line. We’ve had regulations for many years and they worked. Now we probably will not have them but we should make it inconvenient and difficult to deter that result.

Sounds like a good reason to sue gun retailers

It was from a “natural” grocery store. What are they selling it for if not for human consumption? This isn’t an animal feed store. Both the store & the dairy knew EXACTLY what they were doing. If they lose their businesses, they won’t be selling dangerous milk anymore, so good.

So sue the store and the dairy because they sell something harmful and claim it is healthful. There is evidence of the harm—someone was harmed by using this product as it is normally used. The lawsuit brings out information about this process so it is good if we don’t want people to do that.

Just because something is sold, doesn’t mean she had to buy it. The product was labeled. Does she not read labels on products - at the very least to see a sell by date? She had to have seen the label, or she’s flat out neglectful. Her fault, not theirs.

I believe in government regulations to protect the public. If there are no effective government regulations, then we will depend on lawsuits to protect the public. I have no yen for extreme punitive consequences for individuals. I think we’re all better off in a less brutal, and safer society.

Are you not paying attention to what this administration is doing? Have you not heard what RFK Jr is promoting? Trump and his band of idiots are rolling back any and all protections and regulations. Pay attention.

Then we will have to use lawsuits, which are our next line of defense.

You must be a lawyer. Or you’re just missing the point. The dairy is not responsible for her bad choices. They labeled the product. She was negligent and gave it to her kid. She did that.

I’m not a lawyer. Why and how did we get regulations? People demanded them— but it took time, education,, and people had to become aware of the consequences. We live in society so focus on individuals is a red herring. Safety for the public is being dismantled. We have to use the tools at hand.

The dairy and the store knowingly sold a dangerous and defective product. Why do you think they shouldn't bear full responsibility for that decision?

Why don't you think 'personal responsibility' applies to the creeps selling shit milk?

First of all, if she didn’t know this, why on earth would she let her child have it? Second, it seems she caught it by cleaning up after her kid got sick. Either she didn’t clean up thoroughly, or she didn’t wash her hands after. Basic hygiene. Hope she loses.

Maybe they should sue RFK Jr and the MAHA podcasters instead of the dairy

If we don't want people to get sick we should make it less profitable to sell food with deadly bacteria in it.

I dunno I mean I don’t really disagree except I don’t think that’s what is driving demand for raw milk. It’s all the propaganda imho. I think it would be better if people believed it was deadly bacteria and not a magic elixir that “they” don’t want you to know about.

Yeah maybe. Though some people will always be unable to do that math in their head--as we know from the pandemic. They will watch each other die and unfortunately the parents kill their children as we know from measles.
