I do wonder if Elmo turned to politics so desperately because he knew this might be coming. Tesla's value makes no sense otherwise. apnews.com/article/tesl...
I do wonder if Elmo turned to politics so desperately because he knew this might be coming. Tesla's value makes no sense otherwise. apnews.com/article/tesl...
It’s never made market sense The whole Tesla Musk thing is like a cult Tesla valued at the same worth as all the top auto makers but earnings are less than most of those companies Cult it’s a cult
He turned to politics because they're going to deregulate everything and make it illegal to report on safety issues, so his cars and space company will no longer have to face inquiries about their staggeringly god awful safety records.
I think his whole thing about going to Mars is a total BS move. Just collecting money saying he is going to do that. No one asks about how he will get past the van Allen belt without getting soaked in radiation and end up dead or sick by the time they get to Mars.
Who would buy a tesla knowing they are lining Elon Musk's pockets ? add in its declining safety record, poor build quality, etc and the growing stable of better cheaper brands, I suspect this is the beginning of a long downwards slide for Tesla whilst ever it is tied to Musk
Tesla's valuation never made any sense ever since Elon Musk wrestled the company from its founders. Some journalists 👇 have tracked the company for over a decade, exposing one peculiarity after the other. Elon Musk remains too big to jail. @lorak.bsky.social @fmckenna.bsky.social @niedermeyer.io
Tesla is not even competitive with its products in its own niche anymore. Tesla ranked 13th in latest Road & Track ranking of the best EV cars. Tesla created the category and it cannot even crack the top 10 anymore. www.roadandtrack.com/news/g419927...
Branch Elonians never cared much about defective products or undelivered features, see Model S, X and then 3.
We would not be dealing with any of this if SEC had shut him down in 420 case. Instead Clayton handed him kudos. time.com/6168452/elon...
this is the crack in the dam. stock price is unfathomably hight. out in mars orbit. so overvalued meme stock.
Undoubtedly there are many reasons. I don't think it was hyperbole when he said he'd be thrown in jail if Kamala wins. Lots of shady activities, financial and otherwise
He has money. I think he wants power. Putin and Xi have both shown the limitations of money
That's why Vance is there, the difficulty he has is offing Trump!
One burger at a time…
That would require some assistance from the US Secret Service tbh!
Vance is nothing but a patsy
Now to the 2nd question: for whom?
For Trump to use and throw under the bus when things get crazy
Hold that thought for now
Whole Tesla's value is rigged and Tesla completely depends on carbon credits = tax payer money. carboncredits.com/teslas-739-m...
Welfare company
Tesla’s valuation could only ever be justified by them ending up with a total global monopoly on car sales
Tesla's sales are probably down because he "turned to politics" (i.e. started spreading hate filled lies everywhere), not the other way around.
It never made sense that Tesla was valued more then 10 biggest car makers in the World combined, entire planet was never going to be driving a Tesla
Just never park next to one. There seems to be a lot of fire happening.
I know how to fix this! Make all other auto brands ILLEGAL! Bye Cherolet!
Disagree. I think this is the other way round - Elon’s politics have alienated his Tesla buyers. How many politically sane people now want to buy a Tesla?
Sure, but now you’re not buying equity in an overvalued and stagnating car company, you’re buying equity in the ongoing corruption of the United States government for the personal profit of billionaire tech oligarchs.
still too many!
I was all set to buy a Model Y. Then Elon turned political with Xitter and MAGA. Porsche electric for me now 👍
Exactly, I have a leased Model X up in a couple months, I just leased a Lucid Air to make sure I got the EV tax credit that trump will surely get rid of. Much nicer interior, more miles to a charge and not as I call my Tesla, a rolling MAGA hat.
Another factor is Tesla is just a two trick pony - Model Y & Model 3, and both have been around forever. They are well priced but there are better cars on the market that come without the baggage of that clown
free federal funds
Pretty sure he is on it like an hobby, more than a long sigth vision !
Elon’s turn to politics made the Tesla brand toxic to their biggest customer base. They would be selling much better otherwise.
I thought the sales loss was simply because lots of his purchasers were climate conscious Democrats or R's and his alliance with Trump has killed that market stone dead?
I thought EM's support of Putin was a play to source metals for his batteries very cheaply. Maybe it was even bigger than that
people still buying Tesla cars nowadays are just scums. Imagine supporting such a toxic person, a racists and fascist like Musk nowadays because you are such a stupid idiot that you decide to look the other way around and still buy his cars. Same goes for all people on X still paying for Bluecheck
Just boycott that thing
emporer's clothes
I think the wolves of wall street are pumping Tesla stock for the commissions. It's way, way overpriced. They're treating Tesla stock like any other silicon valley stock, and it's obviously just a manufacturing stock.
Of course. I also think that his opposition to work from home is not only due to his cruelty and managerial incompetence but also because Tesla is OK for commuting but not suitable for road trips. So work from home threatens its market share.
The stock price is irrational, but it's not really a car company. Tesla has positioned itself to own and license the design of standard car chargers, and to own most stations. By mandating the breakup of that monopoly, Musk can be reined in.
Umm no He turned to politics because America has allowed for oligarchs to run America He saw that he could be the FIRST foreign American oligarch and cashed in If he hadn’t turned to politics Teslas would still be selling
This a good example why it is dangerous to believe others opinions. One thing I do know that is NOT the reason he turned to politics.
He is deep with Russia and China.
”When govts try to pick between winners and losers, the losers that pick the govt”
I can't believe they didn't fall further.
One has to be an outspoken fascist to buy a Tesla in 2025.
Hmm. Maybe people are ditching the brand because they want a well made EV and not a front-row seat to his (or his cars’) meltdown.
Elmo’s had a son that became a transsexual woman and underwent hormone therapy as a minor with Elmo’s consent. He now blames Californian wokeness. Putin has positioned himself as the great anti-LGBTQ crusader, and has been very successful at influence the anti-LGBTQ types everywhere.
You just wait til they come out with the all new Tesla Fireball. Through the roof!
Obvious how Space X will benefit from Musk's links to Trump, but Tesla is much less obvious. Its valuation is just incomprehensible at this point.
It’s a certified meme stock. There’s no logical explanation for its market cap. I’ve been praying that it will drop enough so that he’s no longer the richest man in the world. He’s all hot air and so is TSLA.
Shareholders will start protesting his lucrative pay if he doesn’t turnaround Tesla.
There may or may not be an impact of Elon's propaganda but either way, competition is getting tougher. Tesla produced 1.79M cars in 2024, about the same as they did in 2023. Meanwhile, BYD went up by 40% to produce 1.76M. Just when Tesla needs a brilliant CEO, off he goes to find a new hobby.
Tesla does not seem to have a serious new model pipeline, its sales leaders need a serious facelift to keep up with competition. Cybertruck fiasco is ruining whatever reputation for quality Tesla had and Musk’s extreme views are pushing away many potential buyers. Expect steeper sales decline soon.
He would dominate MAGA EV sales, if they existed. I've never watched a CEO deliberately blow a brand to smithereens.
brands with an “S”
The dude polarized *rocket launches.* That takes talent. And then there’s Starlink. His company arguably saved Ukraine, and somehow he’s managed to make Russians like him more than Ukrainians do. He’s uniquely bad at brand equity.
Starlink is spying on people and helped more of Russia than Ukraine
There were also rumors that a next Democratic term would *finally* look at his endless series of "next year for sure" promises of "full self driving" as consumer fraud, securities fraud, or both.
Or are sales where they are *because* he turned so hard into politics? I kinda think Tesla’s sales numbers would be just fine had he not poisoned the brand for the people most likely to buy EVs. I mean, hell, MKBHD sold his Cybertruck just the other day because of how he felt driving one.
And then, yeah, his K-hole riddled brain may have thought that killing EV subsidies would increase Tesla’s competitive advantage in the US.
