People just don’t get it. If trump was really angry at Putin and wanted to sanction Russia, he could do that right now. He has that power. Yet time and again he delays, and says he will do it in “weeks”. The only rational conclusion is that he doesn’t want to sanction Putin.
With Putin refusing to talk also to Zelensky the only thing Trump can do is calling off the meeting with P. . If Trump will continue to have this intended meeting it must be to receive new instructions …. Trump should up his sanctions to🇷🇺 and up needed weapons production .

Hardly any Republicans will break with Trump or the MAGA movement over dissatisfaction with Trump's Ukraine policies, or level of support for Ukraine. GOP politicos in Congress only care about clinging on to the Seats. If they do get off the Trump Bandwagon, it will only be due to a Dozen reasons.

effective sanctions on Putin would disrupt global trade and petroleum prices. Trump just wants a gesture of capitulation. The air truce would do it and would benefit Putin. His cruel strikes do nothing to further. His territorial gains while the Ukrainian strikes definitely hamper the Russian effort
oil price is fairly low right now at around $70 per barrel , global trade has managed fine at $100 in the past - sanctioning Russian oil sales properly wouldn't push it to $100, Russia is not a big player in oil supplies
