Also in spreading the narrative that Russia is so strong it might not want a ceasefire (when it very well might--especially if Trump gives them great terms) we have done Putin a massive favor. Russia might need a ceasefire, but its being framed as a Russian concession.
This was my thought too: pause to build up massive supplies of drones and men, waiting for the final push. Trump is an agent of Putin, so this will be whatever is best to their advantage.

Exactly that. If Russia is interested in a ceasefire it is a sign of weakness. Because it is not that their goals in Ukraine are fulfilled.

The problem with the EU is, its not truly united. Even if tomorrow 🇷🇺 would invade the Baltics, I wouldnt be so sure its NATO / EU members would step up. I can think of a few 🇭🇺🇸🇰 and some on the fence 🇪🇸🇮🇪🇮🇹🇦🇹, and then there are 🇬🇷🇹🇷 who dont trust each other and would prob. withhold troops.

I still don't understand what exactly - besides European cowardness - gives the US any say in the future of Ukraine. We should shed our illusions and forge our future without the US.
