If Trump really wanted to sanction Putin, he could. It would be no problem. Congress would go for any sanction he wanted. So any time Trump puts a condition on sanctions, it’s just another piece of evidence that he is protecting Putin from sanctions and helping Russia in the war.

c’est le temps qu’ils mettent entre-eux pour trouver une solution,ce décidé et ensuite,s’accorder. Il nous faut toujours un temps fou pour trouver une majorité entre nos pays et bien souvent nous ne la trouvons pas car chacun regarde ses propres intérêts nationaux et c’est un des plus gros problèmes

There is a difference between understanding and condoning something. I understand that people do want the war just to go away and they are fearful of the militarization on all sides and clamor for peace. But you cannot get into peace talks with an aggressor who is known to break treaties.
I agree. The problem is that each government has to 'sell' EU membership to its citizens, meaning they must be shown that this is of advantage to them. When the EU leaders demand that everyone falls in line and shoulders the burden, the rulers who are less secure in their positions balk.
