What's your emotional support TV show?
What's your emotional support TV show?
Some of y'all have pretty bleak emotional support TV shows. I mean, I can see it. I sometimes listen to sad music when I'm sad. But I could not watch The Americans, for example, while in a bad place, because some of those episodes would send me spiraling. Y'all are built different.
Homicide is my bleak choice
sometimes we’re ruminating and don’t realize we are other times it really helps to watch something set in a world that’s not doing ok!
and some films seem made for that space: I’d even say Only Lovers Left Alive saved my life that one has textures of story that resonated most when things were feeling quite dark
I love that movie.
Anton 😢❤️
Such a great movie!
I tend to turn to Star Trek (TNG, if I'm feeling shaky, or DS9, if I'm doing a bit better) or comedies I've seen a million times, like Frasier or Santa Clarita Diet. Sometimes New Girl, but only select episodes, bc that show is super uneven.
simpsons seasons 2-9 and anything from the first 3 seasons of either arrested development or community
Brilliant, young magical Puff.
DS9 is solid af
“Star Trek: TNG”, “Derry Girls”, “The Office” (U.S. version), sometimes “The X-Files”.
Lol! Came here to comment TNG. 😄 They have episodes where they have tragedy & deal w/ dark subject matter, but ultimately use reason & empathy to make decisions. Particularly the character, Data, is so comforting to me.
My dad sent me my mom's Picard shirt a few years ago. It was her favorite shirt. She passed in 2003, so ST TNG always holds a place in my heart ❤️
Friends is popular in our family
Monk, Psych, and Leverage are some of my go to escapist TV shows.
The David Suchet Poirot series, any and all Jane Austen adaptations, Ted Lasso, Buffy, Lucifer.
Forgot "Lasso!" And "Shrinking."
You, me = same
My trek spectrum is exactly the same! Lately I’ve had MST3k on with the commercials as comedy comfort food
Hell yes, are you watching from Tarlcabot's channel? So many good old VHS rips there!
Yes, that’s the one!
my is Bridgerton bc it is literally without stress -- pretty people doing pretty people things. will they marry? or not? (yes, they do)
HOW is Frasier so damn good? Like. It’s aged so well, which is pretty rare for a turn-of-the-century offering.
(I choose to pretend the reboot doesn’t exist)
Especially since the actor himself is a fucked up dude
tng (seasons 3-6 and the finale) and frasier (seasons 4-7) usually do the job for me.
The Righteous Gemstones was weirdly comforting to me.
I like the show but people enriching themselves by selling religion tends to make me mad. We are all built different.
Yeah that's def something I let slide and just appreciate their shedding light on these people's ignorance, selfishness and utter depravity in a way that I can laugh at when I'd normally just get angry. Hope this makes sense, and as you say, we're all built differently.
TNG is my comfort show, too!
I dig voyager as well as TNG
Poker Face is mine. Natash Lynne's character is a genuinely good person & the stories are nasically cozy mysteries.
I don’t watch tv. Except occasionally baseball. And even that I prefer on radio. I like radio a lot. Radio XEGLO out of Gueletao is my favorite radio station.
Mine is Star Trek TNG too! 💫✨ Rotating with DS9 & Voyageur for variety
Great British Baking Show.
My emotional support show is The Pitt. Admittedly one of those ‘run toward the danger’ types…
LOVE The Pitt
NewsRadio, particularly Season 4.
Bitchcakes
that was an amazing show
hmmm… for a while it was: The Good Place The Magicians Crazy Ex Girlfriend also in rotation: Supernatural Dead Like Me iZombie Eureka Warehouse 13 Broad City Community True Blood Misfits Being Human Doctor Who TNG DS9 Voyager (too new to be a comfort shows, but must recommend Sort Of, Ramy, & Mo)
Dead Like Me is underrated. I don't think Showtime even has it streaming.
That’s so raven. Hands down
Pose, six feet under
“BOB’S BURGERS” EVERYONE IS SWEET AND KIND!
Everyone is surely neurodiverse and probably queer? It’s whiter than is ideal but they seem to be working on that?
I love that they recast Marshmallow so she could be voiced by a trans woman. That episode where she sang in front of her parents was so touching!
I actually didn’t know that they did but I *did* know that Marshmallow was always queer and Bob was always 100% cool with Marshmallow. (The one Thanksgiving ep where Bob says “I’m straight.. I’m.. I’m mostly straight..” was also pretty kind/accepting)
He friggin idolizes her! It’s so sweet. “All I know about Marshmallow is that she comes and goes as she pleases, she answers to no one, and she's truly free.”
Bob is the best boy. Linda is also the best girl. And also, that’s only describing them as they identify. They’re the sweetest peeps.
YES
I’m on my 4th rewatch of Our Flag Means Death.
This is the way.
Star Trek TNG and nature shows narrated by David Attenborough
Buffy.
Stargate: SG-1 or TNG
Can I count Broadway bootlegs on YouTube as a tv show?
What are your favorite ones?
I keep going back to Hadestown and Great Comet, but there’s a super old one of Ragtime with Audra and BSM that still gets me every time
I've been meaning to watch Great Comet
Rachel Chavkin is just so good at her job.
Love Boat, or Nigella (any series)
depending on the emotional issue: gbbo, the price is right, the joy of painting with bob ross (the channels on pluto for the last two are life-changing) currently being emotionally supported by taskmaster
Gilmore Girls, Seinfeld, 30 Rock, Frasier
Derry Girls, can endlessly rewatch. Good Place, any Mike Schur comedy I can access (Peacock unleash your grip on Parks and Rec!).
RIGHT?! Parks and Rec should be mandatory.
Detectorists, Supernatural
Deadwood
Oooh, I can see it! Kinda just perfectly executed TV on every level
Gilmore Girls
GBBO, Good Omens, The Mighty Boosh
The OC
Somebody Feed Phil or Bake-Off if we're feeling especially bleak. Firefly, Stranger Things, or The X-Files if we don't mind it being a little weird or with some action.
Scrubs
Parks and Rec, Brooklyn Nine Nine, Gilmore Girls
Living Single, Golden Girls, and Bluey.
Okay, this will sound odd but: Arrested Development. I lived in a tiny ass apartment (calling it a studio would be generous) about a block from one of the scenes in the pilot. And the original run on Fox never fails to make me laugh. Could watch it again and again and again and not get tired
It's so good. My husband shared it with me, I shared it with my kid, and now she's sharing it with her boyfriend.
Also, the first 4-5 seasons of Trailer Park Boys, many seasons of The Challenge (specifically Rivals 1), and Utopia (the Australian one)
I don't think this sounds odd at all.
Just chock a block with quality one liners, callbacks, puns, all of which only get funnier with repeat viewing. My #1 go to emotional support show!
Saying it's odd is the only thing that sounds odd. 😆
As a long time Orange County resident, it's basically a documentary
And that’s the thing! (At least for Newport Beach; OC contains multitudes, e.g., Westminster and Santa Ana are nothing like Irvine, which is nothing like Laguna, etc.) I only knew it through TV before moving there and… well, let’s just say Pageant Masters blew my mind lol
The Pageant of the Masters is so fucking weird. South County is basically a different world from everything north of Irvine. Doubly so in the weird enclaves like Laguna Hills. I grew up in Garden Grove since my grandparents worked for Disneyland. The OC Weekly is my original alt paper d:
Newport Beach PD pulled me over once essentially for “driving while poor.” Because what business would a beat up ‘95 Subaru Impreza with dirty have being on Balboa Blvd.? God I miss the pho in Garden Grove…
Little Saigon has the best food. Especially at 2 am.
Also on my list. Arrested Development had so many layers to it... one of the most clever and original sitcoms ever!
“Something’s gone wrong” is my husband’s and my catchphrase youtu.be/FdVHdwo4d44?...
“I’ve made a huge mistake” is often mine 🤣
Portlandia Newsradio
Lately for me, Anne with an E. But Murder She Wrote is so cozy even though someone dies in every episode. Man, I love Angela Lansbury. Also, Pride and Prejudice mini-series. I also enjoy TNG and Enterprise - the fact that it’s when we’re just figuring out how to be better humans gives me hope.
Murder She Wrote is my number one comfort show to this day. I used to love watching with my grandma.
Lucifer. I just love sympathy for the devil. I've got so many imaginary crossovers in my head.
And Dr Who, preferably Baker's run, but I'll accept 8-11. Need to catch up on 13+14.
mythbusters
Supernatural 90's Trek Bones
Pose
I always want to watch new episodes: that edge-of-seat-and-I-care-what-happens feeling is my fav but comfort shows I’d kill for new seasons of: Agents of Shield, Killjoys, Continuum, Highlander
Bones, especially the first half of the series
Tiny Desk 😊
Blacklist, murder she wrote, leverage, absolutely fabulous, anything with Gordon ramsey yelling at entitled white men (so basically any ramsey show)
Leverage!!!
DS9, The West Wing, True Blood
Brooklyn 99, Murder She Wrote, Father Brown. Used to be Monk.
Taskmaster
I don’t do “TV” anymore, but my go-to emotional safety net is the first 3 seasons of the Walking Dead. Also, X-Files and Northern Exposure.
GBBO (not the Matt Lucas episodes), Schitt’s Creek, Abbott Elementary, Star Trek TOS , TNG and Strange New Worlds, Hacks, Someboday Somewhere
Parts Unknown and Somebody Somewhere
Bob’s Burgers.
Due South
South Park. Wish I understood why, but it is.
any/all Star Trek, but DS9 is my goto.
The Andy Griffith Show. Not that my headshot gives it away or anything, lol.
Coronation Street (Britbox)
The West Wing. My comfort blanket in TV form.
Dog House UK (on HBO Max & Hulu) - Reality tv* about a place in England that matches rescue dogs with folks looking to adopt. So sweet. *this is the only reality tv I watch... 😂
Community or Ted Lasso.
Mystery Science Theater 3000, up to season 10.
Deep Space Nine, Leverage, and "insert random trashy slow life isekai of the season here"
QI, Mystery Science Theater 3000
We Bare Bears! Occasional glimpses into pathology, discrimination, and loneliness, but largely just incredibly sweet and kind and goofy
We Bare Bears is full emotional support TV!
Parks and Rec, The Good Place, Dimension 20
buffy, MASH, midsomer murders, gilmore girls
What if I told you there's a show that's like game of thrones, but with even *more* politics, conniving and backstabbiness? (and also lower budget, in turkish, and kind of ottoman irredentist???) That's right, it's... ~ERTUGRUL~ (also there's 400 episodes lol)
Brooklyn 99, the Office, Silicon Valley
I loved Silicon Valley. I was so disappointed to learn some of the actors are unappetizing.
Bob's Burgers. Hands down.
American Dad!, Bob's Burgers, Community, the '80s versions of Magnum PI and Quantum Leap, and Ted Lasso.
I have so many, but if anyone sees this and can relate: Patriot, on Prime... I've never before seen a show tackle depression and suicidal ideation in a way that not only could I relate, and embrace... Both true and funny. Feel free to say Hi if you're on board.
Absolutely this show. I’m on my third watch and it just gets better.
Double great
Cool
Bob's Burgers, Harley Quinn animated show, I Love Lucy and Maude 💜
Leverage (all), New Tricks (UK) and Foyle’s War (UK) - I can’t really explain that last one, I just really enjoy the characters.
Foyle is so....he has such integrity
I was okay with the pre-war series, but this war & post just *hooked* me for some reason. I should probably go back to the original just to see…
Northern Exposure and Pushing Daisies If I feel like digging for it online somewhere, Cheers is also lovely and the Golden Girls are top notch. It's amazing how many *issue* episodes they did that still hold up.
My emotional support TV show is to turn it off. ALL OF IT IS PROGRAMMING.
Taskmaster. My version of emotional support is no emotional content for me to have feelings over. And here's the Gentle TV spreadsheet w/ crowdsourced content warnings for people looking for new emotional support TV outlets.
📌
!!! this is incredible
YAY!! I love it when people find it useful.
Me too, both things
This is brilliant. Thanks for sharing!
❤️!
📌
📌
Watching taskmaster literally right now! lol
🤣❤️. The new New Zealand season?? Seems very promising!
Destroy, dismantle, engulf in flames 😉
Yessss, Taskmaster is perfect comfort watching. We also watch a lot Dropout content when things get hairy.
📌
I love Taskmaster so much!
I love that even though it has absolutely zero stakes, it's smart and creative. Such a rare combo!
📌
Holy wow. I mean, not for me, I like some edge to my entertainment most of the time, but it's just fantastic that this exists!
Nothing but respect for people who can handle things happening in their entertainment!
📌
Okay, definitely can't trust a list with Poldark on it. I loved that show so much until Poldark became a rapist and the writer and actors just blatantly denied that they did a rape scene, despite the character literally saying "no."
UGH I'm not familiar with that show (the list is crowdsourced and open to edit, so it reflects a lot of different sources) but that sounds horrifying. I will add a content note based on what you've shared.
It was such a comfort show until it took that turn, and now my blood pressure rises whenever I hear its name or see Aidan Turner. Thank you for adding a note!
Thank you for raising the issue!! A comfort show betraying you like that is the worst.
Thank you for understanding the depth of the betrayal!
Pretty much everything on the lighthearted drama category is for me
Yes!! I love that stuff! An intriguing mystery with some humorous elements that is wrapped up neatly with no emotional holdover? Yes please.
Six Feet Under - I rewatched it for the 4th or 5th time when I had my dog put down. I was unconsolable and it did help
Anything on Dropout.tv, and also DS9
No TV. Music Only.
90 day fiancée
DS9, Futurama, Lower Decks
Steven Universe, I Love Lucy or RuPauls Drag Race.
Right now. 2 Broke Girls. I had no idea one of the leads was a lead on 'The Neighborhood' too. I love it when I get to see an actor anti-age, and when they have an earlier defining role. You get to see if they can act. She brings the same HER energy, but the characters she makes unique. Oleg!!!
it keeps changing. for a long time it was Fringe. wacky paranoid conspiracy shows were comforting because i have a paranoid disorder and it helped to make light of my distrust of anyone and anything
Mystery Science Theater 3000/Rifftrax/CT/Film Crew, etc. Taskmaster
Friday Night Lights!
Gilmore Girls, Heartland, Star Trek TNG
Historically: The West Wing X-Files Deadwood Recently: Righteous Gemstones
Bob’s Burgers
mst3k
cozy memories of circulated tapes
I think MST is particularly helpful for lonely stretches
I’ve inherited my mom’s- Perry Mason. I watch at least one, sometimes two eps a day. And now that I’ve sorted out BritBox, I have so many cozy mystery options, plus Gardener’s World. So, so soothing.
Miss Phryne Fisher.
Love this show
one piece
Parks & Rec Frasier The Simpsons Twilight Zone (but none of the super bleak episodes)
Gilmore Girls
The Muppet Show
One Piece
Quantum Leap ( though I’ve not watched it in years )
Big Bang Theory
Call the Midwife
This. And All Creatures Great and Small. Sigh, PBS.
Yes! And yes.🤯
Harlots.
I had to look this up and the premise sounds very interesting for an emotional support show, but Leslie Manville is totally a comfort actor for me. Might have to check it out
She’s very good in it. The whole cast is. I love it and now I need to go binge it again.
Always looking for new (to me) English shows
Columbo
excellent choice
there's a great example of things coming out OK and the wicked getting their just desserts
Old school! I love it. I watch Columbia a lot
Pronunciamentos do Lula
Midsummer Murders typically
Girls5Eva....allows me to completely disengage from the horror show we live in.
I loved Girls5Eva!
The Good Place, Ted Lasso (doing a rewatch right now), Sense8, and a few movies, including The Old Guard, Arrival, and the last Matrix movie, Resurrections. I used to watch Edge of Tomorrow regularly because I was close with someone with PTSD and it resembled my emotional life.
MST3K
Always Sunny & Archer
If I need one episode of anything to try and change my mood, it’s the Amsterdam episode “sunflowers”.
The Amsterdam episode of "The Bear" is pretty great too.
Bob's Burgers has some of the most progressive views on LGBTQ, gender identity & drugs. There's not ever hesitation to accept those things. It's just there. Character development is rich & branches out (parents of minor characters, distant relatives) lots of Easter egg jokes. Lots of empathy.
Even the rich landlord gets a chance and becomes more caring and empathetic
I love Calvin! I love how he always enlists Bob into competitions in exchange for rent. ❤️
Bob's Burgers
The Office has always been this for me, even though, on rewatching, I end up hating some of the characters.
One Piece. Columbo. But the first 5 seasons of kids in the hall are free on Tubitv
Buffy in days of yore, Severance in days of now
Severance as an emotional support show is wild omg 😲
I expect this reaction, but but 😂 Not only is it a perfect snow globe dystopia, The Innies are a burgeoning rebel alliance who say things like: "we don't abide such fripperies here." Like... I made a **protest sign** that said "choose defiant jazz." I love it so hard.
I can kind of understand how the innies rebeling can be cathartic. When I think about it, it actually makes more sense to me than people who say West Wing because that show just shows how many problems we have that are exactly the same (or worse) as they were 20 years ago.
New Girl
Cosmos. I miss feeling like education and a sense of wonder would carry the day. idk if that's more or less bleak than the other emotional support shows. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
Well it WAS Star Trek, but...
Why no longer?
I'm pissed off at Paramount at the moment. (I still love the show, but I may cancel Paramount+ and miss the new season of SNW.)
Paramount. It's available on free TV streaming tho.
Deep space 9!
It was Doctor Who for a long time.
Space Janitors! (Techically youtube, but YT is basically tv for me) Honorable mentions: The Guild Sleepy Hollow seasons 1 and 2 What We Do in the Shadows
Glee
The Golden Girls
Flight of the Conchords. Too brief but also just right. Perfectly quotable, singable, watchable.
Ted Lasso. West wing.
The Repair Shop. Stories about objects that are really about love. Craftspeople skilled at repairing and restoring. No rushing. Pictures of birds and nature between scenes.
The BBC’s Merlin, ATLA and/or Legend of Korra, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Our Flag Means Death even though it also hurts me lol
Band of Brothers. Stereotypical American male comfort content. I’m sorry.
Psych, Parks and Rec, The Good Place
Ted Lasso
NCIS, Charmed (the original), Doom Patrol, Psych, Elementary, Nancy Drew, Scooby Doo (any/all). Some others too if I’ve metaphorically worn out the tapes on the aforementioned.
Aseel is a girl from Gaza trying to feed her pregnant cat, but honestly, Aseel herself needs food too — she looks terrible! If you can help them, don’t hold back. I shared her post, you can find it on my page.
Hi Libby❤️💓🌷 Am Joy a Palestinian writer please follow and check my pf I'd love to have a supporter like u if it's difficult to follow / if u don't follow me i'll lose ur support for my posts keep sharing my voice and i'll can't be able to reach u again
Ted Lasso!
Friends, Gilmore Girls, Yes Dear, King of the Hill, Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly, Young Sheldon, Seinfeld. Basically anything that will make me laugh or in GG's case, make me feel cozy. I'll grab some coffee, snacks, get comfy and arrive in Stars Hollow.
Right now? Doctor Who. Sixty years of consistent anti-fascism.
Since it’s getting insufficient love, Star Trek Voyager.
Vanderpump Rules
This is gonna be a weird whiplash: BEE AND PUPPYCAT. Sometimes even the soundtrack suffices. SHOWS WITH INSANE LEVELS OF VIOLENCE: like MOSUL. youtu.be/Z9bw8MGkB-A?...
Battlestar Galactica (the reboot)
The Simpsons, Quantum Leap, Batman: The Animated Series.
MST3K, Dr. Katz, and Home Movies.
The Good Place
Buffy
Golden Girls Jeopardy! Old Simpsons First run of Columbo Ted Lasso And anything where people create things, the stakes are low, and everyone is nice to each other: Making It, Lego Masters, etc
Stargate. Minus 5 episodes. Sunday and Heroes part 1&2 get skipped if im needing emotional support. Emancipation and One False Step get skipped as a matter of policy.
forever “Parks and Recreation”
Frasier, Star Trek TNG
Mr. Robot or Community depending on my mood
Ya have the two end points of a spectrum right there!
Wow, Mr Robot is hardly comforting 🤣
the expanse but dubbed into spanish.
Mary Tyler Moore Show and Designing Women
Omg Designing Women! I forgot about that absolute gem of a show! Gotta revisit that one.
Star Trek. Adventure Time.
Buffy if I want to feel inspired. The Office if I want to laugh or feel comforted.
signed, sealed, delivered on hallmark. cheesy and lovely.
Love Your Garden. Or anything with Alan Titchmarsh, Monty Don, Kevin McCloud or George Clarke
Bob's Burgers for sure
Taskmaster or Great British Baking Show depending on mood
Star Trek: The Next Generation
relatable
If I’m sad I go for ds9
The office Battlestar 2000s version Designing Women
Besides ER, which is on constant rotation, the first season of The OC.
great british sewing bee.
Best British Baking Show (Netflix) Calm (HBO Max) @守艺中国Handsofchina: The complete map of traditional skills (YouTube)
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Bob’s Burgers is a close second
Bob’s is mine, they are such a loving family
I held a grudge against that show for years bc it took the place of King of the Hill on the Fox Sunday schedule, but we started watching it a few years ago and now we’ve rewatched the whole series like 7x
King of the Hill is underrated. If I had a billion dollars, I would buy time on Al Jazeera and just show reruns (with translations,) just so that people outside the U.S. could understand how actual Americans who are non-wealthy live their lives.
very reasonable grudge
Yeah but I’m glad I got over it. And Kevin Kline seems to enjoy playing Fischoeder more than anyone has ever enjoyed doing anything 😂
being into mlp what do you think about the equestricals(?)?
Oh the one where Bob got his tattoo (tut-TOO)?
I enjoyed that episode. “Non canonical! NON CANONICAL!!”
poor tina, can’t keep any of her writing away from the fam
The number of times Bob and Linda have found the kids bc Tina writes EVERYTHING in her journal! 😩😂😩
Any 90s Star Trek and also Burn Notice
Right now: The Buccaneers The Summer I Turned Pretty Building the Band
Letterkenny, easy.
Homestead Rescue. It's the oddest sets of people ever, but damn they build some cool stuff!
Bob’s Burgers
This.
Private Eyes
Reservation Dogs & Abbott Elementary
Gilmore Girls 4ever
Lower Decks
Varies. Bob's burgers. Great North. Daredevil. Recently Dept Q.
Lately it's been The Venture Bros and Bluey
Definitely Bob’s Burgers. Also, Abbott Elementary. So grateful they exist!
Most recently Bee & puppycat + Inuyasha, most of growing up it was fresh prince!
Ted Lasso 😬
Bob’s Burgers, Futurama, The Simpsons
Taskmaster
futurama
I mean… what a bleak question and yes my answer is “mindhunter”
Golden Girls
Rick & Morty, Midsomer Murders, X-Files, Space: 1999, DS9, Fullmetal Alchemist, Buffy, Orphan Black, Game of Thrones, BlackAdder, Red Dwarf
Bob's Burgers or Adventure Time.
Newest one is Murderbot, but also Psych, Leverage, and White Collar.
TASKMASTER. Not even a close 2nd.
Friends, The West Wing, Big Bang Theory, Happy Endings, Psych
Stephen Colbert!
You're not kidding!
Golden Girls, TNG, Frasier, Futurama
Ooh I forgot to add Frasier!
For me it's mostly YouTube shows: Jet Lag the Game, Good Mythical Morning, The Technical Difficulties, Sorted Food, Girl With the Dogs... Also Taskmaster and Great British Baking Show.
Depends, but usually Frasier or DS9. I did watch a bunch of K-dramas recently when I was recovering from hip surgery.
Definitely Star Trek or something similar from the 80-90s. Has to be a bit hopeful though.
Psych and Voyager, and if i ran out of those, the original Charmed
Bob’s Burgers, Arrested Development, Always Sunny, & Reno 911
Great British Bake Off, Taskmaster, New Tricks, Schitt’s Creek, architecture shows like Grand Designs, and most things on Dropout TV
Whose Line Is It? Any and all of them: the UK version; the ABC Family (Drew C) ones; and the CW (Aisha T). .
I LOVE Whose Line! Colin, Ryan, Wayne, Chip, Jeff, Greg-all funny as hell!
One Tree Hill
Rutherford Falls, Ted Lasso, & I'm a sucker for a cozy mystery
Forever, it was MASH & any Star Trek. Pre-surgery: Three Pines. During chemo: Reservation Dogs. Man, I couldn't have gotten through those infusions without those kids & that community. They had everything I lacked.
That is quite a reccommendatiion for Reservation Dogs!
Totally with you on MASH & any incarnation of Star Trek - they're like my comfort blankets💚
Shameless!! Lol
Archer
Abbott Elementary. Daria.
Chill historic home renovation shows without hosts, New Girl, 30 Rock, Buffy
frazier, home movies, x files
Home Movies...good call
