Now those are properly hard and unintuitive. Source: Euro Truck Simulator 2.
Still never played that but I hear good things.. I don't mind that kind of game so I might like it... I spent HOURS in Elite Dangerous flying between delivery missions and it's a pretty similar idea. Except I guess in Euro truck simulator you probably don't get interdicted by pirates sometimes
It's great. It's like Elite but you actually have to do things to get from A to B instead of fly in a straight line.
Meh there's lots to do. Even just flying in a straight line has stuff to do, especially at sub-light travel. But on the way you need to map your route to hit certain star types, then you need to scoop them for fuel etc. It's more involved than you might think
Oh, hadn't seen anything like that in the videos I watched.
You can do short transport missions without refueling, but mostly you're refueling on the way by scooping stars.. Staying far enough away to not burn up, but close enough to scoop.. But only certain star types can be scooped so it figures into how you map your route etc.
There's a fair amount of downtime, but it's more involved than it seems
I used to put on music and just transport shit. Fun and relaxing heh
for real
The professional drivers of those are so impressive with how precise they are. (I mean, when they aren't completely fucking it up and ramming the truck into the one next to it, several bollards, and through the loading bay door.)
Yeah. Growing up, my buddy's dad just moved those around all day. He didn't really drive long-haul (I think he had some disability or something?) so they had him park/move those around all day in giant lots for loading/unloading etc. Watched him do it. Really impressive
