Exactly. He has learned that once he takes it to them, they will give him whatever he wants. Effectively, he CAN do whatever he wants. No on in a position of power is stopping him at any point along the way.

I don't blame you, it's horrific. Even here in Canada, I feel as though it's 1938 and I'm Polish. I try not to obsess and hope Americans will vote in huge numbers to oust Republicans at all levels for a couple of cycles to get them to turn away from fascism.

Republicans have always been about fascism. They will never turn away. I don't share you faith in the rest of Americans, especially not where I live. My county voted for the Black Nazi. They will never change.
