I have ridden through those crosswalks, and while I’ve never had an issue there, there really should be an actual connection, one where we’re not technically supposed to dismount.

Oh definitely. I don't love riding through crosswalks, but I've definitely become more accustomed to it riding with a 7 year old.

I find riding through the roundabout worse, because drivers aren’t expecting you to turn off onto a MUP, so I use the roundabout if I’m connecting to a road, or the crosswalk if I’m connecting to a MUP basically out of the process of eliminating the worst option.

Is a better connection a part of the Midtown bikeways project? I didn't pay close enough attention to that engagement when it happened earlier this year.
