One of the reasons I think some people didn't view RFK Jr.'s previous anti-vaccine activism as being super evil is that they also vilified (or continue to vilify) autism.

It was always an extremely bizarre proposition that it would be worth it to have children dying en masse in order to avoid autism. And since vaccines don’t cause autism, it makes even less sense.
If you considered his hatred of autistic people to be evil, it's easy to have seen him as being evil before he took office.
And yes, hatred of autistic people is evil.
Definitely some people that might claim they’re not in favor of a “cure” for current autistic people but think it’s maybe worth thinking about what if we could just “prevent” future autistic people.
I wish all the potential $$$ going into that would actually go into research for things people want to prevent from those who have it, like ALS and autoimmune disorders.
That, and also just better funding to support autistic or disabled people. Instead of investing money in bogus research, what if we used that money to ensure direct care workers could actually get paid a thriving wage? It's so infuriating to know how much that could help.
