The govenment should at all times, be praised when it does something well and held accountable when it does not. The failure of trust in the govenment is a failure of holding them to account. The govenment is suppose to exist for the people, we have allowed them to exist only for money.
If you don't have any guns, how do you hold the government accountable? It will be like UK where they do whatever they want and the people have no recourse.

How are those anti-Ice protests working out? And don't tell me the Alligator Alcatraz was a victory, opening it was a dumb stunt. ICE is still very much operating.

You missed the point. They opened 20 centers, make a big show about one, that one gets temporarily vacated, but the other 19 new ones are still operating, as well as however many old ones existed before 2025. And you call that a victory?
Every time the courts rule against the administration it shows some separation of powers still survives, the moment that stops America is lost. As long as people can still vote these people out, which has partially happened already there's a chance. One state already lost its super majority.
The people pushing for violence are either keyboard warriors or they glow.
Yes, be a good little slave and never rise up to oppose your masters. The government is desperate to catch some domestic terrorists so there are a lot of glowies and they far out number anyone with a spine, but that is because they are legitimately afraid of how effective violence can be.
Be the terror they are afraid of.

It takes a lot more guts to walk up to someone and stab them then to simply point and shoot. I would also take the damage a knife would do and have the chance to resist over getting deleted from across the street. It's ease of use is what makes it so dangerous and casual.
Then the bobbies stop you and fine you for having a knife that you need for your trade job. It's a slippery slope. They won't stop at grabbing guns.
Now you get arrested for Facebook posts and saying, "I love bacon."
Take a look at the stats on knife crime. It's not bacon eaters doing it.
