It can be valuable for this but what I have seen is that people don’t evaluate the outline it puts out to see if it makes sense/aligns with objectives. They just go with it. One of the things I worry about the most is the loss of critical thinking/evaluation of writing.

Oh I get what you're saying. I think people see it as a shortcut, not a single tool for writing. It can help organize information, but it is terrible at final format writing.

My coworker definitely sees it as a writing tool and it is just NOT.

I've used it to ask general questions like how do I convert X type of document into Z type of document. I haven't tried it for organization/outlines, but that's a good idea. Using it to just flat-out write for you is a terrible practice.
