I am so sorry for you, for him, for our kids. My oldest (now a high school junior) was told in 7th grade to "run, hide, fight." And they told him how to use his school-issued iPad as a weapon. Do you know what he said to me? "I'll fight until they shoot me in the face!"

My neighbor was the same way…4 kids later…🤣 I hugged the heck out of mine when this latest one happened. He was fine, but I wasn’t. I think we all need that ‘hug’ just to make sure they really are okay. …and our govt doesn’t care. They love money more than our children. Their priorities are crap.

I placed you on my ‘bell ring’ on here so I can see when you post. Sometimes it’s just helpful to talk to someone who understands. My DH is always calm and my friends…say I’m too alarmist.
My calm husband has become an alarmist. Two boys, 7th and 11th grade. We live in NorCA. We are luckier than other places but we are still vigilant and not sleeping on what other areas are feeling/going through.

Mine just entered HS. I remember when he told me about covering his mouth. I was crying when picking him up after a shooting, the one in FL. It devastated me. He patted my arm and told me, “don’t worry Mama, I know what to do. We hide, and put our hands over our mouths so I won’t die.” He was 8.
