There is further litigation involving this case. This decision allows NIH to freeze the funding during the litigation process. It's possible funding could ultimately be restore, but research is not like a faucet you can turn on and off and damage has already been done.

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Everything is weird, backward and just plain stupid. Scientists like you have got to be besides yourselves figuring out what to do in these dumb times we find ourselves in. I have a close friend who's work has been decimated, like many others.
