I sorta agree. I don't wanna take my grandkids to the movies & then wind up trying to explain something like Sexuality - gay sexuality at that, when we're supposed to be watching a movie for little kids. I thought that's what he meant too. Plus, ain't talking about the bides and bees for mom & dad?

You agree? That there can't be a movie showing two women being loving together with no sexuality whatsoever?!?!? What about all the little kids that have two moms? What about all the little kids that have two dads? Does that offend you as well?

No. I don't think when I talk my grandkids to see a movie, it'll be a kid movie without adult references. Damn. Can't we let kids be kids? And would you prefer your parents explaining this stuff to your kids instead of you because of a stupid movie?

I took my 10 year-old granddaughter to that K-pop movie and she never even noticed. She thought the two female characters were just friends. It's in your head, not theirs.

Do you see what I'm getting at? I don't know about this particular movie, but I've seen others that put adult themes in them. Not just homosexuality. What's next discussing mortgage rates? That's not my job. My job is to tank them up full of sugar and send them home How many Grand kids? I have 2.

I find it hard to believe you're a grandma. But OK I didnd't see the movie. We try to do outdoor stuff with the kids. But that's not the point. A Parent should be the ones to teach their kids stuff like that. That, how to walk. Their first words. potty training and like how to ride a bike.

What's an adult reference? Because according to op, there wasn't any.

We have to explain a lot of things that we find uncomfortable to kids. It's part of their growing up. And sometimes we don't have the best answers, because we were brought up with unnecessarily restricted views on things like love. That's OK. But we shouldn't pass along old irrational fears.

Like I told someone else who made the mistake to think this is homophobic. Would you like your Parents being the ones to teach your kids about sexuality instead of you because they were cornered into it by a supposedly kid oriented movie? THAT'S what Snoop Dog was going off about.

Well. No. They were brought up at a different time with other values. And frankly so was I. But if it comes up, I hope they do their best. I know my dad's answers would be disturbing, so I'm either not handing the kids over to him unattended, or I will be prepared to handle the "damage".

But in all seriousness, I think the parent should be the one to teach the child that. to teach the child to walk. to be the one to potty train, teach to ride a bicycle...

Yes. But a child needs many perspectives in life. If everything comes from the parents, we will make less progress both individually and as a species. Football coach, teacher, neighbour, etc. You definitely have a role to play as a grandparent.

No a parent can't and shouldn't try and teach their kid everything. You're right. perspectives. But still there are some things that are simply the area of the parent. And I for one am perfectly happy leaving "sex talk" to the parents.
