I'm not about blame, really. I get why people found the option bad, I resonate with it. I'm about understanding what happened. And stein voters on Twitter rooting for Trump victory is part of what happened. It showed up on campus, it was part of the story.
Think back to all the "punish Kamala" rhetoric. She was never punished, she's doing great. This active obstacle to the only alternative to concentration camps was impactful. History books will be written about it. Obv less blame than others, but this was real and damaging.
In my late teens and early 20s I wrote two short books (sadly unpublished*) about Hitler (the first one focusing on the development of the religion of the Reich and the second one more focused on Hitler's style of leadership. For background I read a lot about the political developments 1/3
that led to Hitler's rise. I do wish that I had read and wrote also on that topic. The research I did on those projects did give me warning starting with the birther movement of what was likely to come. Variations on a theme, but so much overlap. And yes, something that history, if it 2/3
continues to be studied and wrote about in any meaningful way, will spend much research upon. *in the internet age, i would have self published. as it is the works are lost to history, as best I'm aware. I still had one of them before leaving the USA, but almost all my possessions there are gone

I wasn't in the USA, haven't been for almost 20 years. I would never go back... even if I didn't have family reasons to stay where I am... I'd still never go back. So I didn't see the Twitter madness... how much was actual Stein voters and how much was Russian bots or GRU accounts is.. perhaps 1/2
an interesting question. (I know that much of the political stuff my adult children are exposed to on TikTok is CCP origin/paid accounts) But humans are quite vapid creatures... its no surprise if they take the propaganda from Russia and China and internalize and spew it themselves.
