Depends what person and who's on the board.
It’s more like the owner of a small business. Or boards of executives like Amazon. I like the smaller business experience because you get to really know the owner.
YMMV. It can be great if the owner is great. It can be miserable if the owner is an asshat. Each job is its own thing. In a big company, your manager usually has more effect on your day to day work than the Grand Poobah does.
I used to hate my manager, and the owner was such asshat at my old job. But ever since making my own company, I’ve just really started bonding with some of my employees and some of them just don’t seem to be enjoying their employment as much. They make 200,000 a year with so much vacation time
I’m around too much or in the way of their job ever. Just wonder if there’s something I could do to make their lives easier. Because they certainly don’t make my easier. I think owning a business is the fact that It can run when you’re not around. The accountant just has an attitude about profits.
