But if ICE is racially profiling and dragging people off the street without due process. What happens to the American citizens that ICE detain?

Same as if a police officer brings someone in charged with a crime. They are taking people off the streets that they have reason to believe are not here legally (overstay a visa or entered illegally). If they already had a removal order then they are removed if they didn’t then a hearing will occur

Except people detained by ICE aren't getting hearings, which I'm sure you agree is an issue? People like Marie Ange Blaise who was stopped at the airport BEFORE an order of removability with no criminal history have died in custody of ICE. I would encourage you to be on the right side of the issue

Take a look at ICE's published detainee death report for her: www.ice.gov/doclib/foia/... No criminal history. No hearing. No justice.

So she entered the country illegally and was being detained when her heart gave out and died. Thats ICE’s fault why? She made the choice to enter the USA illegally and was caught. That’s what ICE is supposed to do

Your whole point was, if they had a reason to detain someone, there would be a hearing, right? But there was none for her. Or, there's a prior existing order to deport. But there wasn't - ICE documents detaining her the day before they put one out. You surely can see the issue with that?

It’s called walking a chewing gum at the same time. She was caught entering the country illegally. Taken into custody and yes before she had her hearing her heart gave out. Very sad but the heart going out wasn’t ICEs fault and it would have happened in Haiti based on her health

Where does ICE documentation say she ever entered illegally? She was at the airport in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. That's United States territory, not Haiti. How do you know she did not have a valid visa at the time she was stopped? On her health, ICE did not treat her appropriately 1/2

This is clear by the number of times they flew her across the country, and her own son and other detainee accounts- www.wlrn.org/immigration/...

Well when the prior administration defunds the agency and fails to hire judges and instead just releases everyone into the interior pending a hearing that’s what you get. A backlog and full detention centers. It’s really not difficult. Done come here illegally.

You mean like how Trump fired a bunch of immigration judges, and his admin demand a quota of arrests? It's definitely a problem. It's also definitely being made worse by the current admin.

Exactly! She was not here legally and was detained pending a hearing. Thats how it works

But you don't know if she actually was here legally or not because there was no hearing! And you have no issue with that? Is it also "how it works" that she was shipped to 4 different facilities across 4 states in less than 2 months? That's also just acceptable to you? Seems like fair care for her?

If she had a valid visa and passport then the detention at the airport in the USVI would have been quick. But she didn’t did she.

But that's not what's documented - where is the proof she entered illegally? If you were here illegally, why would you go through an airport, which has high scrutiny over your credentials? She was shipped across over 4 locations in under 2 months and you think ICE treated her health properly?

No. A person of color walking down the street or on a job site is not enough "evidence of a crime" to detain them. Trump is using immigrants as a way to usurp a dictatorship the same way Hitler used the Jews to become a dictator.

Ah there it is - the false hitler comparison. As a Jewish person myself I take offense. This is nowhere close to what happened in Germany in the 1930s or America with the Asian Americans. Accuse others of what you are doing is exactly what a socialist/communist does (Joseph Gobels/Karl Marx)
