Agree! A recent goal is to intersperse other reading with Carrère and Nothomb in the original French. I’m learning that it’s the occasional French noun that trips me up more than verbs. I try to solve the word-riddle on my own, but sometimes you just have to resort to using a word translator.

Love it! Great idea! They both blend sharp introspection with dark wit & existential themes, perfect for immersive, thought-provoking reading in French. Reading builds intuition for grammar, and expands vocabulary in context.
