Big city driving is a whole different animal. Couple years ago I drove to New York for a wedding. I got into Manhattan just as rush hour was beginning. I learned quickly that if I wasn't aggressive. Everybody was going to cut me off. They leave no room between bumpers when driving.

That’s it exactly! Also drivers are expecting people to be aggressive and are ready to react. It makes a difference! When we drove into the city to visit her it was very much a case of pilot and co-pilot with both of us on high alert. Exhausting!

It was a little bit of a shock to me and I had to adapt quickly. Little bit nerve-wracking also. I'm just glad it was at the beginning of rush hour and not in the middle of rush hour.

Middle of rush hour here things slow down because of the weight of traffic heading to the Motorway. You can use it to your advantage. Not so much in cities we discovered!

It's the same here. Some areas are worse than others, but as long as we stay away from them, there's no problem during rush hour.
