many parents in the United States (especially in the south) view their children as property or want to punish them for ruining their lives as teenagers. my brother had so many friends in Florida whose parents kicked them out at 16 years old. it is absolutely insane to me

yeah i moved out of my dad's house at 18 and after a year moved back in with my mom. she should have let me live with her until i was 30 as long as i didn't slam the cabinet doors after 10pm

Sounds like you are a good son though that is extremely funny πŸ˜‚ i had a friend who moved out before marriage and her mom got mad. She was 31 lol. and she married the guy like a year later. Moms are so weird lol

Its wild when it becomes obvious when parents regret being parents. My mom constantly tells me she didnt want kids and my dad tells me all the time he didnt want daughters. I have a sister. Kicking kids out, while theyre still in high school no less, is cruel. Youre just making your kid homeless.

the worst part is that it often just perpetuates. my parents had me too young and divorced when i was 1 but they wanted me even though i made their life harder. my stepmom, however, was very much a "kids need to start working and contributing as young as possible" and i had to get a job at 14.
