well she praised Defund the Police in 2020 and ran considerably to the Left of her 2024 positions in 2020. She didn't use these on the campaign trail, but she was not seen as a moderate by the general electorate. www.nytimes.com/2024/07/29/u...

Some of these positions may be reasonable/debatable but they did put her to the left of Biden, considerably. And a lot of people didn't find her tacking to the center credible in 2024.

She didn’t lose because she was too far left. She lost because she didn’t have a good sales pitch. She mostly ran on not being Trump and many decided that life under Trump wasn’t so bad.

I mean, sure, if you want to have a general conversation about whether the democratic field got too far left during the primaries in 2020, and that harmed Kamala in the shortest campaign in history, fair enough. We can have that discussion. I’m not saying we can’t.

But that’s a very different thing than saying “Don’t use these words [she didn’t actually use] because those words are the thing that makes you seem too extreme.”
