The criticisms are not in good faith but the less informed (not stupid, just busy with other stuff) who believe the criticisms shouldn't be told they're stupid. That's who we're trying to respond to, and not just because they may be voters.

No. Humoring these absurdities like they’re policy discussions gives them power. You say, “That’s ridiculous. No thinking person could believe that,” and you move on. You don’t reframe it or pick a true bit out of the garbage b/c they’re playing an entirely different game, to GET you to do that.

I don't get into those arguments much at all now (used to, on Twitter), but I never reframed. Tried to assume they were smart enough for "You're wrong, here's the evidence."
