Nope, there's already Weird Irrational Jeffries Haters commenting that he was "too nice". Man, everyone's going to really make me start fangirling Jeffries just because I have a massive pet peeve of when people have utterly irrational reactions to someone/something, aren't they.
I knew I was asking too much. He is minority leader of House Ds, a role that requires him to keep his caucus together, which he has done. He used his “magic minute” to delay passage of that horrendous budget & gave anyone listening fodder to call House Rs with.
He cannot conjure 5 GOP votes out of nowhere. He is a human and can’t speak forever to completely stop the majority from passing bills. He cannot force Mike Johnson to uphold the Constitution. Other rhetorically gifted Democrats can and do use their skills. It takes all kinds of people.
I honestly think hate against Schumer and Jeffries is likely astroturfed. As if cannot be a coincidence both have views that earned them the ire of Free Palestine which is very astroturfed and we always get this massive outpouring of hatred in response to when they do objectively reasonable things.
It's highly likely that basically Free Palestine has become a targeted harassment movement that exists to crap and piss on both Schumer and Jeffries from here until eternity just for existing, independent of either actually doing anything objectively unreasonable outside of that single topic.
They’re in danger of becoming a wedge between Democrats and swing voters on this one issue. They’re absolutists who will tell followers that you can’t have empathy for Palestine and vote for Democrats. Of course it does nothing but help Republicans, it’s part of how we got here
I genuinely think Free Palestine is actually directly funded by Republicans, if not Israel itself. It's too convenient and coincidental that they keep intentionally doing things that help Republicans.
