Two guys in two different scenes tell the story of their wild hookup to their respective friends. They were both at a con in cosplay, fate randomly pushed them together at the same hotel room, and surprise chemistry took over. We go back and forth between the two anecdotes, Rashomon-style.
Each storyteller mentions how nervous and shy and dweebish they felt, but each recalls the guy in costume that they hooked up with as being cool, competent, and sexy as hell. After the climaxes of the stories, they each lament that they'll likely never see him again - didn't even get his real name!
The heartwarming twist at the end, of course, is that the two audience-friends happen to work together, and it's implied that they're going to gossip on their lunch break, compare notes, and help these two get back together, this time out of costume.
