I turn 64 in a few weeks. Thanks to the ACA subsidies in the IRA I'm paying $84/mo for a mediocre bronze plan with a $9000 deductible. Now, thanks to these fucking Republicans, I'm probably looking at $900 a MONTH starting January, 2026.

While they keep trying to get rid of #SocialSecurity 🤬
My theory is that Social security is too transparent for them to get rid of. Instead they will effectively turn Medicare into a CVS coupon card over the next 20 years.
No, the campaign against Social Security is well underway. All the "how dare they call Social Security an entitlement!" people are paving the way for a bill to make it not be an entitlement any more, and then one day, no more SS checks.
Less and less though. They want to raise retirement age, crazy things like work requirements, really wacko stuff from these a-holes 🤬🤬🤬
Yeah, more like chipping away at it 🤬🤬
You will be forced on to Medicare and pay $185 a month plus whatever plan you add to it. I was paying a bit more then you but as soon as you turn 65 they kick you off the ACA and force you into Medicare.
Yes, it's fortunate for me that I'll be able to go to Medicare in July, 2026, but only after paying around $5400 more for this ACA plan for the first half of the year. This would totally blow if I was only 62 or 63 and looking at multiple years of these insane premiums.
And that’s the category I fall into. I’ve got to find a way to survive for 27 months before I reach Medicare age. I have no clue how that’s going to happen, but I am starting now to make plans; can’t “wait and see”
