That theory would make Matt Gaetz a genius so we know it’s not true.

Neither of which have anything to do with brain activity.

Exactly. He’s just as bad as any uninformed idiot, half hearing something and passing it partially along with his own bad take. I read the same article he probably did and understood it. He mutilated the info into some warped nonsense.

I’d be interested to read that…

Here’s the part about natural selection being affected by C-Sections and the percentage of those that deliver larger skulled babies. Interesting concept. I saw a recent post in a medical journal, but I’m not sure which one and where. It was a month or two ago…probably Medscape.com

Also the mother usually dies in childbirth if the fetus is too big for the birth canal and no c-section is performed. Republicans are monsters.

If "they are allowed to survive to adulthood" should be the rally cry for gun control. But, according to the second paragraph there is no proof.

Researchers without proof aren’t scientists. I believe in science.

There’s also the assumption the mothers stay the same size. but reality is more like bigger babies mean bigger mothers in subsequent generations.

Not necessarily. Head size and pelvis size do not necessarily correlate genetically, if there's not evolutionary pressure forcing them to correlate.

Unless you think humans are turning into bobble heads, the body will have to be proportional to the head.

Thank you for posting the article, Heather. Musk warped the information into his racist, mansplaining brain and used it to further his agenda. 😡

Reading the paper, the authors clarification seems to indicate that people, like Musk, are getting very unsupported conclusions from the paper. My take. The child's skull can change shape during the natural birthing process (very obvious in my youngest daughter!). But how does the volume change!?

I think you mean “mass”, not “volume”. The volume definitely changes.

Interesting. I haven't heard before that the fontanelles that shift back months after birth don't shift back all the way. A skull mass change is a big surprise, what is the matter that is added or removed depending on C Section or Natural? If you have papers to back it up, I'd love to see them.

It is the same concept of saving individuals from deaths that would have occurred 100-200 years ago. Those individuals go on to live and produce others with similar genetics. E.g. rhesus negative blood types

Side note: researchers don’t have proof of this per the article. The article also suggests another possibility: “They note the possibility that the increase in baby head size might be due to the modern lifestyle, which is more sedentary and calorie rich than that of past generations.”

A small team !! Right ??!! The only thing a C-section causes is discomfort pain recovering from the cut the Mother endures
