Read this This is some of what she's talking about. www.whitesupremacyculture.info/characterist...
As long as you deny race as THE factor at work in US politics, I’m not sure *we* are on the same side.
Racism is certainly the #1 driving factor of Trump's administration. Next highest I'd argue is greed.
It’s the #1 driving factor of WHITE Americans. Period, full stop. Not class, not the price of gas or eggs, not billionaires — just plain old racism.
We are NOT on the same side if you fail to acknowledge racism is a problem just like misogyny is a problem & not just class.
Taking responsibility as white people for what we have done collectively is not division. It’s adulthood. It’s respect for others. The sooner white people take responsibility for what the majority of us have done, the closer we get to actual progress.
I agree that we are on the same side. I also agree with the class issue. But we have to tackle both. It's not an either/or, it's a both. Until we deal with both, neither will be resolved. You enjoy the rest of your day, as well.
If folks are in denial about the realities of how our society is structured are we all really on the same side? Folks like that person will agree on certain issues that impact them but will ignore root issues that will maintain the challenges others experience
I never denied the points the others are making. I agree and understand them. I am simply asking how we overcome them and can beat MAGA in the next elections. We need to convince people to vote for the better candidates. The candidates need more exciting policies. They need to fight the injustices.
more exciting than opposing "I will be a dictator on day one"? GTFO with that BS!
I voted for Kamala because I was aware of that, and all of Trump's atrocities. I'm on your side. Fuck that dictator. I'm trying to figure out how we can stop him or MAGA from winning again. CLEARLY we didn't do well enough in 2024. Don't you agree we failed? Let's not fail again.
As a country, yeah we sure fkng lost. I still believe if we weren't a country full of white people who hold unexamined bias with generational internalized racism and misogyny we'd have our second female president right now.
Yeah you're probably not wrong, but that's the world we live in. We need to find a way to make it better. We need candidates who can overcome those difficulties and unite enough people to beat the racists and sexists. We need better campaigns that address the peoples actual struggles and opinions.
Her campaigned did exactly what you are wishing for here. It DID NOT MATTER bc white America has been indoctrinated into the isms. From football coaches to your pastors… they were all in on a white male felon pedo. You all have to figure a way to change that, otherwise 1/
The only thing that will change them is the pain that the orange clown brings thru has asinine policies. 2/2
Nope… white America failed. The non committeds failed. Establishment dems failed. The goal has to be more than just defeat maga or all they will do is go underground like they were prior to trump.
All of this is true as well as the realities of race.
Yes, we need to have candidates that can convince people that they care and have plans to address the inequality and inherited struggles many people face due to their race in this country. America won't be fair until regardless of their race they have good opportunities like everyone else.
Access and opportunity must be increased for the historically oppressed even as said groups have made tremendous progress. When marginalized groups do well, all folks, including White folks do well. So the issue becomes how do you convince your white fam and friends of this?
I dont know what an exciting policy entails. Harris’s platform included some pretty transformative stuff. Keep it real, the issue wasnt policy. It was that she was a woman and non white
Her policies were NOT clear. She had platitudes, but no DETAILS. Trump had project 2025, a full throated detailed plan for his presidency. She had better ideals, but can you honestly say she campaigned in DETAIL? Yes there was racism and sexism. Don't disagree. She didn't do enough to overcome that.
Craziest take I’ve read in a while. A convicted felon that commits mortgage fraud, assaults women and thinks “Black” means unqualified. And white folks still voted for him in droves. Yet you think SHE was the problem ?
I think we need to have better strategies to win in 2026/2028 that don't lead to defeat. That's all I'm saying. We need to get out the vote and show people the horrible things MAGA is doing and persuade them to vote better. Kamala lost, we have to learn what went wrong to have it work next time.
My home town in AL is 40% Black. It just elected its firts Black mayor and you gest mayor ever in a county and city that voted trump at 70%. How did he win. His words: grassroots efforts, voter education, new voter turnout. The strategy is not new. It lacked will by the party and folks like you 1/
Who talk instead of act. Who now have skin in the game where we, Black people always have. So dude… what are you doing. I hosted voter education sessions at my barbershop every Wednesday for 4 months last year and just started this year. 2/2
I’d agree if this wasn’t the SECOND time Trump was elected. The bottom line is that white America doesn’t want a woman (Hillary) or one of color (VP Harris) at the top of a ticket. We can make excuses all day long.
Trump lied during his campaign and said he wouldn't implement Project 2025. So Trump's policies were also not clear except to send criminal immigrants home. He lied about that also because he's sending non-criminal immigrants FOLLOWING the immigration process to countries they never lived in.
I'm not going to jump on your back, but I watched both closely during that race, and her policies were better than his by miles. Politics isn't a zero-sum game. She had to shed her image from 2020 to try to win in a more Republican leaning environment in 2024.
What the fuck did you expect her to do to overcome racism & sexism? Become a white man?
Kamala Harris had detailed policies to make things better for the American people. Trump just said he will bring prices down on day one & implement mass deportation without saying how he would do it. And prices have only gone up!
Nobody votes based on detailed policies otherwise they would’ve voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton & Kamala Harris instead of Trump. Ignorant voters, which are the majority of voters in this country, vote based on VIBES.
That Vibe is predicated on race and gender. I had a civil convo with a prominent white evangelical pastor. He acknowledged that trump was horrific as a person and supported policies that he did not align with. He still voted for him bc he doesnt believe women should be leading men
His favorite clout accounts never shared any of those details, so they never existed. Plus he would've had to actually listen to her voice to hear details
She had 107 days. Every damn thing we held dear hung in the balance. She warned about Project 2025. Trump said immigrants were eating cats and dogs. You're yammering about details. And now, people are being snatched off the streets. That's not Kamala Harris' fault. Voters fucked up.
I understand. I voted for her, I bought her merch, I got my friends and family to vote for her. How do you think we can win the next election by blaming the voters? I mean, I GET the frustration with them, but how do we make them switch sides? It's that, or figure out how to increase turnout. Both.
Let's get real. White voters put us here. White people are selfish & need learn to vote for harm reduction & the person closest to their values. There are no perfect candidates. That often means voting for a someone you don't like. Imperfect yes, but that's the reality Black voters have.... 1/
navigated since they got the vote. If white voters took voting as seriously as Black voters by voting for harm reduction: we. would. not. be. here. Maybe this horror show will teach us not to be so lazy, but given what I'm seeing in Hakeem Jeffries's mentions, they're screaming... 2/
*me checking the calendar to be sure it’s not April 1st* 1. Trump spent his campaign denying he ever even heard of Project 2025 & being so vague about details his stump “platform” often contradicted itself in the same speech. 2. VP Harris had detailed plans laid out on her website & explained… 1/2
…in her stump speeches & many interviews & media blitzes. 3. Why were non-⚪️ ppl able to hear her msg & turn out to vote? You should read about racism & ⚪️ supremacy bc you seem to think it’s just open KKK/Nazis when it’s something we’re indoctrinated w/& have to exorcise from our subconscious. 2/2
🎯🎯🎯🎯
Are you really of the opinion that American voters care about “details” ? 😂 l WISH!!!!
Lol fair
There was a tsunami of factors against her and against Democratic candidates - the struggle is btw those who want a pluralistic representative democracy and those who want blood and soil white ethnostate. With a bunch of clueless swing voters in the middle who vote based in vibes. 1/
With a media dedication to balance as opposed to truth it truly is bleak for anyone who cares about facts and details. Even when my preferred side wins, it looks like a fluke or short term reaction 2/end
No, they’re not.
I had hoped to make headway with him by finding some sort of common ground. Since he as spent the rest of the day arguing with others about this and not seeing his role as an active racist, I am rescinding my prior statement. He and I are not on the same side. He has a lot more work to do...
The sad part is that he either chooses not to understand or is incapable. 🤷🏾♂️
I can't imagine being so prideful that I couldn't be open to new ideas. To accept that I don't know it all, and that I should listen and learn. He has no wisdom...
I don't think *I'm* on the same side as someone who says it's literally more about class and education. It's 2025 & 300,000 probably mostly well-educated Black women have been forced out of their jobs by a racist administration because of racism.
... I was talking about the uneducated obviously. The people Trump says he "loves" and vote Republican at high percentages. We need to force the Dem party to work for the working class instead of their billionaire donors and provide solutions to help these people, pull them away from Trump and MAGA.
1/Who ends up in the working class is heavily determined by race & do not come here talking about Dems not working for the working class. If the white working class cared less about the first word in that phrase they would never vote Republican. On class & every related issue, Dems are superior.
2/I will NOT be debating what is obvious.
I was hoping that I could make headway with him, but as he has spent the entire day since doubling down, I'm agreeing with you, and rescinding my prior statement. He and I are not on the same side. He has a lot of work to do on himself before I can consider myself on the same side.
