The press I read is certainly not a "fascist organ" by any stretch of the most vivid imagination. In fact it is overwhelmingly vehemently opposed. btw. I read foreign media too.

You’re compounding the mistake that us liberals made after watergate, which was to lionize the press as incorruptible and interested solely in the public good. We over-interpreted one event and blindly defended the media class for decades as being on the side of liberal democratic values. Not so.
Not only was it not true in the 1970’s, it’s deeply, comically untrue now. These are profitseeking institutions whose owners are deeply invested in the fascist cause, essentially without exception. The virtue of a few individual journalists is utterly immaterial. The apparatus is utterly corrupt.
You claim "These are profit seeking institutions whose owners are deeply invested in the fascist cause". Some may or may not be fascist. Many just like the tax breaks. Aa long as I get access to great human, environmental and anti-fascist reporting, then I can live with that. That is what matters.
There’s no anti fascist reporting in any US legacy media and if you think there is you just have a tragically high threshold for noticing fascism. Which is true of a lot of Americans, which is the problem. If you can “live with” our current situation vis a vis the media, you’re part of the problem.
"There’s no anti fascist reporting in any US legacy media" isi blatantly and demonstrably false. Maybe you are part of the problem.
You are definitely part of the problem. The consensus framing by US media of our current situation is wildly beneficial toward fascism. Deliberately so. Just because you can find bits of reporting you like doesn’t mean that the entire apparatus is oriented toward deception and collaboration.
You are definitely part of the problem. Where did you buy the glass onion? It's not "bits of reporting" it is almost exclusively. Are you real? Or just pretending to be. Cause I've seen AI act the same.
And, noticing you’re Canadian, I would humbly offer that there’s enough of a difference in our media ecosystems that you may simply not fully understand what’s going on in the United States or how bad it’s gotten.
We have our problems like the predominately owned and Republican influenced National Post which is the dominant print media across the country. But I subscribe to many US based media companies. And foreign owned. And as a paid subscriber to all, I do understand what I read and what is going on
I’m afraid I now need to dismiss your opinion. Nothing personal and I sympathize with your optimism but at this point it’s extremely counterproductive.
So nicely said. Only a "machine" could have that way with words.
The framing of events is so funhouse-mirror crazy in US media that the downstream merits or failures of individual articles or journalists is beside the point. The gun is facing backwards.
you aren’t even american
Have you ever heard of dual citizenship? Or in your world, would that just be another clone?
