True! I actually only saw the first one yesterday while looking into the Van Dyck painting I posted and I lol’d because the Icarus is literally just the two tiny legs in the water in the bottom right, barely visible. As far as the inserts, lots of faces in paintings are based on models / real ppl

But in the ones I posted I think it’s more so thought to be metaphorical as I can’t find any confirmations, at least for the first two. I initially said it because it was a remark in the lecture I watched about the dyck painting
