I used to know a former Blizzard North employee who got me into the WoW alpha, but I haven't had contact in over a decade. Now I'm wondering if I met Mark when we had a movie night at this guy's house & he had coworkers over too. Lots of questions about my Diablo 2 playstyle that night
I was a Specialist GM for World of Warcraft and general support for Blizzard's inbound between 2013 and 2024 and I have never, not once, heard a single positive thing about him from veterans.

They released Firefall, but it was a total disaster, didn't live long, and the board of directors had Grummz removed as CEO after he overspent on marketing campaigns in the millions.
He stole the marketing budget to fund gamergate BS and to buy himself a lotus and a yacht.
I've seen him claim that the bus was a great investment because people bring it up to this day. I don't know if he knows that "any attention is good attention" isn't necessarily always true.
I guess if you completely ignore the concept of ROI, yeah sure, great investment.

I don't have an personal experience, but I grew up in south OC and had a number of family friends who worked at Blizz and Red5. Heck, I think my dad still plays games online with some of the Red5 guys. I'll ask around and pass on your info if any of them wanna talk. No promises though.
I worked for Blizzard in a completely different time window and can still tell you that guy is a huge piece of shit. 👍🏻
