Sadly, I think that’s meant as a selling point. Meaning you can work lots of hours to maximize your pay. A sad side affect of keeping the hourly rate depressed. “Sure the pay is crappy and the work is backbreaking, but you get lots of hours!!”

I think the season is very short. Not a lot of hours, just hours all at once.
