Based on 2024 homicide rates, Chicago ranks 8th. St Louis at #1 has more than double the homicide rate of Chicago. New Orleans, Detroit, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Richmond, all have higher homicide rates than Chicago. Why aren’t we sending the National Guard into those cities? Kind of obvious why.

Dropped the Washington Post in Nov. and replaced it with Wired. I was a Wired subscriber to the print addition years ago, but it’s been ages. I really like what they’ve evolved to. I also read The Atlantic which I have enjoyed for years.

Got it. What if Zoom just auto launched at the appropriate time? For all of its flaws, Amazon Chime had this feature and I got addicted to it. I would be immersed in something and it would just pop up and give me a ‘join your call’ prompt with the meeting description etc.
