I lived in Nacogdoches longer than I’ve lived in Houston proper. Tough scene for my Jacks

Do they still have 25 cent wings on Tuesday’s at Flashbacks? Is Pat or Cory or Craeger playing Banita Creek Thursday? IS IT STILL VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FLUNK OUT OF THE SCHOOL???
In-stadium announcement: SFA’s 29 will now be wearing 96. Beautiful. No notes
Lived there for six years (BA, MA). That’s 30 years south of Lufkin. There is only one dorm left that I ever lived in. The rest have long disappeared
I first broke 90 at Woodland Hills. Dated a lady’s granddaughter that lived on the course so always had free cart privileges. I loved that place but life happens
I love Nac. How such a cool ass town could exist so close to the hellhole that is Lufkin, that also has a college, is one of life’s greatest mysteries
The 80s were very much the 80s there. Cool Isn’t a word that came up a lot then, but from what I can tell it’s changed significantly for the better. To give you an idea of how long ago it was, we covered the installation of the Surfin’ Steve statue in 1986 for TV2.
Oh dear. Were the twin shitty tower dorms up back then? Yeah I was there around ‘05 to maybe ‘0’12 off and on. My job had me all over but it was home base
Oh yeah, Steen Hall was there (or, as we referred to it, “The Towers of the Screaming Virgins.”). Most of the dorms back then were of that era. The effort to drag the campus out of the 1960s was just starting when I was there. Roundabout? That would have been considered communism then.
I loved getting my license renewed and there was no one else in there, as opposed to the lines from hell at the Houston area DMV's
I used to leave my office and pick up my ex at the roundabout on campus. With my stupidly outrageous truck
Seriously this was my truck and a big stckshit
I was at SFA from 1989-1991, lived off campus with my older brother so I never did the dorms. My favorite hangout was usually Crossroads, right by campus but we went to others from time to time. I was there when we went to the National Championship, heck of a time to be going there
Crossroads during my time was the titty bar just over the Angelina county line into Nac. I’m checking on statute of limitations
this one was on the main street about a block north of campus. We would schedule Friday classes to end at noon so we could walk there after class and let the fun begin. Looking back, it was weird to have books in a bar, but hey we were young.
