and like the main reasons VFX houses have to cost so much and grind their staff into paste is because the studios are just winging it the whole time. actually have a dang plan and you don't have to waste everyone's time and effort and spit out some shabby bullshit godzilla minus 1 cost $15M

toho also was pretty brutal to their fvx house but given the output and the budget they coulda paid em more and still had an astonishingly inexpensive movie with such magnificent effects
