So, let’s rebrand and unite as dialectic materialists. Working with what we have to shape what we envision. Peace
They’re laser focused on fucking us. We’re a damn herd of cats with zero focus.
Stealing this!
I can't wait for Mamdani to win so that he can inevitably disappoint the DSA when he has to start governing. They'll turn on him the way they did with AOC.
Socialists use politics the way teenagers use merch from Hot Topic: To set themselves apart. To seem edgy and rebellious. Popularity defeats that purpose. They want socialism to be a small exclusive club, not a broad movement. Which defeats the purpose of socialism.
So, the issue is the organized Democratic Socialists are actually champagne socialists that have little (or negative) appeal to actual working class voters and wouldn't know how to govern even if they did manage to win? Yeah we have the same issue with our "left wing" party up in Canada. 👎🏼👎🏼
It would seem that they only assign LGBTQ rights to Americans. They really have a lot of nerve claiming that they are "human rights" when they would exterminate Israel, the only place in the region where its safe to be any of those letters.
The governing Israeli parties may tolerate the LGBTQ community for now, but don’t be fooled – once it suits their politics, they’ll turn against LGBTQ. Their record shows they side with religious hardliners when power’s at stake, and that makes LGBTQ rights far less secure than they seem today.
Same shit as is slowly happening in the US.
Search the words “DSA so white” on social media sometime. For an org that claims to champion people around the world their membership looks like a hall of marble statues.
I don't know how this one faction can support both those who just want a dignified standard of living and a well-run public healthcare option (to say nothing of their nat'l appeal or lack thereof) *and* a cohort of literal Stalin-apologist communists. I mean... what?
Article is mistaking "appealing candidate with a strong message" for "appealing socialist candidate with a strong economic message". It's really that easy.
