I have to renew my green card this year, and my wife and i have been working out what we do if for some reason they just don’t let me go home from the immigration office.

You shouldn’t have to be worrying about this stuff— you should be just living your life, and continuing being a productive member of society. That should be enough. Instead, you have to contend with all this super sad bullshit. It’s infuriating.
