Look... I dont know if he's a good guy or not. He seems decent, but... he's setting up to run from President in 2028, right?

If he is, he's got my vote. And I'm in California - so you know who's not getting my vote. Rich guy who seems to understand how the rich are fucking up the country? We haven't had one of those in a while....
Yes! We need a modern Roosevelt.
Conceivably, that could be Mamadani (eventually.) But seeing the way party leadership has arrayed against him has made me realize that our modern Democratic party is just as afraid of FDR's legacy as the GOP.
Mamdani wasn't born in the US, so can't run for the top job
I know the urge to dismiss another billionaire is high on some folks' minds. However, having lived in Illinois all of my life, he's the best governor we've had (my opinion, of course). He's got good character. A President Pritzker has the ability to run this country.
Pritzker is no dummy; he will look for the spot if it opens, but if he does or does not, I think he is looking for a seat at the table for his ideas. For now, I am willing to see what he champions.
We are at a point where billionaires just keep running for office. It’s very hard to believe any of them give a flying fuck about the average American. The American experiment is coming apart. Something needs to change because letting billionaires control our government doesn’t fix the issues.
He’s my governor and he’s terrific. Illinois is not any easy state to manage, but Governor Pritzker is doing a great job. He will have my vote again.
My Chicago friends call him "the only good billionaire"
Yes
He is 100% going to run. But. He’s the best governor we’ve ever had in Illinois. I feel safer with him in charge and I don’t want to lose him.
He's a very good guy, the best of any of the potential challengers. A decent man with a moral core. His family are billionaire hotel owners, the Hyatt chain, and they're putting up the Texan democrats that have escaped to stop a quorum.
He seems decent: m.youtube.com/watch?v=ihpF...
Watching now. Pretty great! 😂
Great orator, notes, yes, but never saw him reading them, looks at all the people assembled, spoke well and naturally. Must believe what he's saying. #kudos
He is an all round good egg & is verbally & analy continent. What more could you want?
I’ll go for him instead of Newsom for sure
He says he's re-running for governor, so.... ???
He is better than any other Illinois governor in my lifetime but two went to prison. So not exactly a high bar
100%. Has been a while.
I'd bet on it.
Run from president 😅 was that a freudian slip
😂
Yeah he is. Hard for me to trust someone this wealthy.
And what's wrong with that? I'm not Murican, but I'd sooner vote for someone like him who's actually speaking out & taking action than any others. Newsome is the same, a lot of his standing up to Trump is to set up his 2028 campaign.
I like him. I’ve heard he’s a terrific governor.
Pritzger, Bashear, & Newsome are the big three right now.
Pretty done looking to billionaires for leadership.
I’m here in Chicago and when I say hearing JB and our mayor Brandon Johnson talk about what they will NOT let happen here has made me and my circle heard and relieved 💕 walking the walk too
He announced a few weeks ago that he’s planning to run for reelection in 2026, so… Maybe?
It should also be noted that he’s a billionaire who really doesn’t care what Trump or the MAGA crowd has to say about him, as he could potentially self-fund much of his own Presidential campaign.
He's a very rich man, I don't know how charitable he is but he has said all the right things for a long time now. He will enrich the options in my wee opinion.
I don’t think he was necessarily when all this got started, but he’s one of 2-3 nationally recognizable political figures who’s been courageous in calling out Trump *and* saying socialist shit when he knows cameras are rolling. So I’d be in favor of him on a debate stage at the very least
He is a genuinely good guy and an excellent governor. Notice that he's not just talking the talk...
No doubts about it. And he's rich enough not to need anybody's money. Hyatt Hotels money but he made even more himself. I like him.
There's no such thing as a good billionaire. Sorry everyone. If ANY of your staff don't have health and dental, maybe settle for being a multi millionaire instead.
He absolutely is, and he seems to be one of the few who's making the right noises and hasn't (AFAIK) said something disqualifying.
