"WHEN WILL YOU MAKE IT END!!" This has been one of my favrorite movies since childhood.

Saw it first when I was about 8. Remember being very confused why Rex Harrison’s Pope was wearing armour!
"Buonarroti! When will my ceiling be finished?"
This is exactly the sort of movie I would have never watched on my own, but saw it on 35mm at a festival and have never forgotten it.
💪❤️✌️ Movies, man! Empathy machines.
You two just moved this to the Too Watch list. Up to this point I had just blown it off as another lackluster Chuck Heston epic.
Take it for the ham-fest it is, but man, is it delicious ham!
going to steal that line...
Wasn’t there that year but I could have sworn it was in 70mm
Oooh, I haven't seen it in many years. I was just in Firenze and Rome, too, so it's good timing to revisit the film. Thanks!
Roma, if we're being pedantic...
🤭🤭🤭 The casting way back always makes me giggle, I wouldn’t have any of the classics any other way but still…
👨🍳💋
Just finished. Lordy, just such an excellent film. Proper, old Hollywood epic. 500 men in 16th century armour in the Italian foothills one moment, a deep and thoughtful scene of Michelangelo in the middle of creative despair the next.
Oh man, I've always meant to, but still haven't. This means that today is the day!
I unironically love it. (Which is a warning in its own right! 😅)
