Or, y’know, 8.5 billion taxpayer dollars
Or, y’know, 8.5 billion taxpayer dollars
Those were $$ already allocated by the CHIPS act, so essentially, Intel stockholders have just given away 10% of the value of their assets ... more, actually, if the government intervenes politically in ways that harm Intel's bottom line. Glad I had zero shares on Intel in my portfolio.
8.5 billion taxpayer dollars that were committed by Biden and the 118th Congress. Accomplished "because Lip-Bu Tan wanted to keep his job." I believe the traditional line is, "Nice little company you got there. Be a shame if something happened to it."
The money was already awarded Intel, so in that regard he's correct (is he not?)
That’s a fair question. If, because someone gave you money for a house, you bought a house, and then later the giver demanded part ownership of the house, did they get it for free? Doesn’t feel like “free” in the usual sense of the word.
There is nothing that comes without a price tag.
Kinda Like a Big Jumbo Jet but Easily Cashed Out 🤨
There is no good version of the whole Intel deal. Whether it’s buying a stake, or Tan paying to keep his job, or any other version. Honestly I’d feel better about a bailout with payback terms, even if there were forgiveness clauses
Did Putin give him pointers on how to turn the U.S. into the Soviet Union?
And he thinks it is his personal property. The fact that the US bought the stake means nothing.
I feel like getting it for free raises other questions such as “Why would they do that?”
I wonder if turmp’s attacks on Lip-Bu Tan, CEO of Intel, followed by Tan’s “giving” $1 Billion worth of Intel stock, followed by turmp’s praise of Lip-Bu Tan, could be hints that explain what happened here? I’m no Sherlock Holmes, but … 🤷🏻♂️
You assume he’s telling the truth?🤥🤥👖🔥🤣
Or, since we paid for it, is he planning to take the shares with him when he leaves office?
Nationalization of private industry. Is there a word for that?
Intel had to take shares from company held reserves or buy in the market at market price - either way representing a significant expense for the company. Its extortion sanctioned by the Board.
Math is hard
His lips are moving.🤥
He is a pathological liar
Facts can be troublesome...
or, y'know, extortion for the release of taxpayer dollars already granted but lawlessly withheld
So sayeth the thief in chief
Honestly surprised the President of the United States hasn't fired you yet, Kai. 🤭
That’s “free” to him. We need to stop expecting more from Trump. Really, for our own mental health.
That saucer on top of his head is getting wider and thinner.
Stealing from us!!
Coming from the brain of a man who bankrupted two casinos.
What does Intel get from this "deal" I wonder 🤔
Also it's EXTORTION. Not take a stake in, not cost of doing business. It's BRIBERY & EXTORTION.
He soooooo wants to be Putin. And corporate America is happy to oblige.
Intel is valued at just over $100B, so a 10% stake seems fair. Now, if democrats did this, you'd never hear the end of it.
“I” got it for free. No the country, not “we”. I can’t believe our country is that batshit crazy to continue to let this guy do whatever he wants with no repercussions.
Corps & GOP: $1 in taxes are worth burning down our democracy… And whilst we’re on the subject, $4 trillion of tax-payers’ monies are worth $0.
Actually, Trump is taxing the companies now. Tariffs are taxing the citizenry. So much for small government, as the GOP once wanted! And yet, the US debt has not decreased! So, show us the money!
Nothing like claiming you have a valuable asset but it was “free”. If it’s so valuable, why was it free Donald? Or maybe it wasn’t free actually?
TAXPAYERS ARENT REAL
Do we know the specifics of the Intel arrangement? Has it even happened yet?
It's not "yours," dipshit....smh
It’s becoming clear that “free” in his mind means money he personally didn’t have to spend
