Honest question: is it possible these numbers are accurate but only because people had to spend more because prices were higher? One explanation of increased spending is more money in your pocket to spend. But isn’t the other higher prices? So that you have to spend more for the same stuff?🤔

I think it's supposed to account for that. Otherwise, every time of high inflation would look like an economic boom. Maybe they stopped factoring it in.
