If AT&T offered anything remotely usable in terms of speeds, I would've fought to switch back in 2023 when I went four (4) months without usable internet during their "upgrade"

soul crushing. no complaints about fiber now that it's available here.

There are two ISPs in my area that are even remotely worth considering, and sadly, they're both megacorp. First one to get fiber to my neighborhood has my business. If a local "fiber" provider actually provided fiber/good speeds, I'd hop without a second thought.
